Dixieland Gaited Saddles

Now Western Trail Saddles (WTS)

shows original dixieland gaited saddles leather stamp

Dixieland Gaited Saddles by Cynthia Wright of Lexington, Alabama established a reputation as the finest saddlery available for the Tennessee Walking Horse, Missouri Fox Trotter, Kentucky Mountain Horse, American Saddlebred, Spotted Saddle Horse, Morgan, and Rocky Mountain Horses.

Under a new name, “Western Trail Saddles” (WTS) is the same design, material quality, reliability, and endurance that Dixieland Gaited Saddles was when they were in business.

David Abbott is the owner of Western Trail Saddles (WTS) and represents the Amish saddle maker online. Western Trail Saddles (WTS) has expanded beyond Gaited Horses to all horse builds.

While made in the South, our saddles are for the pleasure of everyone who enjoys trail riding wherever that may be.

Western Trail Saddles (WTS) are 100% handcrafted by a Swartzentruber Amish craftsman who made the original Dixieland Gaited Saddles. There is absolutely no machine stamping, assembly line process, or foreign labor used. Each saddle is a hand made work of art.

Comfortable Seat

Our seats feature one inch closed cell neoprene foam cushioning. The closed cell neoprene foam will not absorb moisture. Already under waterproof leather, the seat will remain comforable, yet sturdy so you can enjoy your ride without distraction.

American Leather

Cheap foreign saddles are a dime a dozen with all the comfort and durability of a cardboard box. These are made from supple, durable, American cow leather.

American Saddle Trees

The saddle tree is the firm framework the saddle is built on. We use saddle trees exclusively from “Steele Saddle Tree LLC,” American owned and operated since 1859.

Stainless Hardware

Every metal part that can be stainless is stainless for untarnished durablity. Every process is done by hand using only the best materials you would expect in Amish craftmanship.

Made to Fit

Each Western Trail Saddles (WTS) is made for you and your horse. Look for the saddle size on horse build on the latigo holder (cinch strap keeper.)
