Custom Western Trail Saddles
Customize a western trail saddle to ensure your saddle meets your needs and preferences. Most customizations do not add to the price of a saddle. If additional cost is involved it will be listed under “Additional Variations” and you will need to contact us with your request.
Customizations require a 50% non-refundable deposit and your saddle may take 4-6 weeks to complete once your deposit is received. If there will be delays due to supply availability we will inform you as soon as we know.
We will send a link to you to make a deposit on a customized saddle after you have submitted your customizations and we have responded. Making a customized saddle deposit is your agreement to the provided quote.
The most common customizations are already available as options you can customize when shopping for a saddle. We have provided a list of all the customization options below so you can see what is available and be aware of less common, but available customizations.

Steele Equi-Fit saddle trees make up the internal frame of the saddle and are made specifically for horse breeds and builds. All trees are rigid unless a flex bar option is noted.

Fit Forms
Saddle Tree for Horse Build
If you do not know which Steele Equi-Fit saddle tree fits your horse we can send you up to three forms to put on your horse’s back and photograph. Based on the fit of the forms, we will know which standard saddle tree to use or be able to have a custom saddle tree made for your horse.
To avoid adding extra cost to all saddles, we are charging a $280 fee for sending fit forms with a return label. When the forms are returned in good condition $100 will go toward the saddle you order within one year of your form deposit.
