WTS Saddle Customization
Your Western Trail Saddles (WTS) customization first step will be choosing from three saddle designs.
- Endurance Lite Rider (26 lbs.)
- Butterfly Lite (26 lbs.)
- Butterfly Regular (28-30 lbs.)
When comparing the saddle designs, ignore the color, cantle style, smooth or rough out leather, and tooling options. You can choose all those options and more separately.
Your next step will be choosing addition options such as leather colors, tooling, add-on features, or matching tack.

Choosing Your Saddle Design
Endurance Lite Rider
The Endurance Lite Rider is our most popular saddle and provides the most intimate contact with your horse without comprising comfort or durability. Each saddle weight may vary slightly due to size, leather, and saddle tree but 26 lbs. is the average weight.
Butterfly Lite
The Butterfly Lite includes the rigging in the skirt to eliminate bulk behind the rider’s leg and reduce weight. Exceptional durability is maintained while reducing the average saddle weight to 26 lbs. or less.
Butterfly Regular
While still offering style and increased contact with your horse over the traditional square skirting designs, the WTS Butterfly Regular retains more leather. If you are looking for an extremely durable saddle and an average weight of 28-30 lbs., this is your saddle.

- Specify the specific Steele Saddle Tree
- Include additional width in quarter inches (D + 3/4)

- Seat rise is determined by the saddle tree and is typically 5 inches for Steele Saddle Trees.
